Shifting between the everyday and the surreal, A City Inside recounts one woman’s life from childhood home, to the first love that she will never forget, to the creation of the idea of herself that she can grow old with and the home that she can grow old in.

Walden’s follow up to the lyrical I Love This Part is a poetic exploration of the process of growing older; the journey towards finding out who you are and building a life for yourself.

It is a universal story of how we don’t just come-of-age once, but many times throughout our lives.

Next up is the last part of Miller and Bird’s exploration of the life of Alfred Hitchcock and the History of Film; this instalment focuses on his ‘British Thriller Sextet’ and leaves him on the verge of his triumphs in Hollywood.

Owen Pomery delivers the final showdown between The Megatherium Club and their scientific rival Othneil Charles Marsh. It of course involves childish swearing and nudity.

We’re massively proud of Tim for his achievement in winning Best Comic of 2015 at the British Comic Awards for Grey Area: From the City to the Sea.

Tim was the first person to ever approach us about contributing to our anthology, Tiny Dancing, back when we had just started out, and Grey Area 1 was the first book we ever published that was entirely by a single creator.

The journey that took our creative relationship with Tim from there to here, in just a few years, is one of the things we’re proudest of in our history to date.

Firstly – thanks to you Adam and all the team at the British Comic Awards. Its a real honour to be selected for this award, and it genuinely means an awful lot to me. The work you’re doing in supporting British comics is hugely important, and I’m sure has contributed to the growth of the comics scene over the last few years. For me personally, seeing self-published, and small press comics being taken more seriously, and and being considered alongside well-established publishers has been a great inspiration.

I’d like to say a massive thank you to Avery Hill Publishing for all their support. They do an enormous amount of work behind the scenes – from help preparing pages for print to promoting and selling the comics at conventions. An extra special thanks to Dave, my editor from Avery Hill, who literally went the extra mile on From The City To The Sea, and walked with me form Upminster in London to Southend-On-Sea, which formed the basis of this comic.

A quick thanks to my wife, April, who puts up with me drawing in the evenings and at weekends when I should be spending time with the family. I’d like to share this award with you -you’ve helped make it possible – thank you!
